All Karoo Zen pieces are made by hand we don't use any casting or mass production techniques. Forging is a term that is described as a manufacturing process involving the shaping of metal using localized compressive forces. The blows are delivered with a hammer. Forging is one of the oldest known metalworking processes.
When forging jewellery one uses a series of hammers down to a very small one for precise forming. It is a meditative process, repetitive blows administered in the now, each one shaping the metal closer to the desired form. Until finally it feels complete, it is a moment of relief, a moment of completion that leaves one with a satisfying sense of stillness.
